History in the Making
Aviance became part of Ghana's history today when the first ever wide body aircraft, B747-400, arrived at Tamale at 1110 on the 19 August 2016. The flight was here for the Hajj operation and was the first of 3 flights operating from Tamale to Medina (Mecca). The plane carried 495 pilgrims from TML direct to Mecca. The President of Ghana His Excellency John Dramani Mahama headed the celebration on this auspicious occasion.

All of the equipment needed to handle the B747 had to be moved by road from Accra proving that where there is a will there is a way. The planning took weeks but on the day it was a seamless occasion with everyone working as one to make it happen.
